Facts & Questions

What is psychotherapy?

Psychotherapy can help you address a specific problem, and it can also help you achieve greater happiness and satisfaction in your life. By starting the process of therapy, you are making an investment in your personal growth and well-being.

What do you treat?

My areas of expertise include: anxiety, depression, trauma, men's issues, relationship and family problems, student mental health, career and life transitions, and identity concerns.

What can I expect in therapy?

The process of therapy is different for each individual. However, a commonality is that the therapeutic process is a journey toward increased awareness, insight, and a better quality of life. Therapy is also a process of self-discovery of one’s potentials, strengths, and innate ability to heal. Our ultimate goal is to foster growth and change, leading to you feeling more comfortable and productive in your life.

Am I a good candidate for therapy?

I offer an initial 15 minute consultation during which we will discuss your current issues and history, and explore your goals for treatment. The consultation provides an opportunity for us both to get a sense of whether it feels like a good fit.  If we continue to work together, I will tailor my approach to your needs.

How long does therapy last?

The length of therapy varies depending on the individual and the concerns being addressed. Some patients attend therapy for a short period focused on a specific issue, while others benefit from longer-term therapy. I will work with you to determine the most appropriate treatment plan.

How often would we meet?

Therapy sessions typically start once a week for 45 minutes. Depending on your needs we may meet more frequently.
